Channel points
Turn a Twitch channel point redemption into a TipPage action - credits, bot messages, song requests, or a message read aloud on stream.
The Channel Points page maps your existing Twitch custom rewards to TipPage actions. A viewer redeems the reward on Twitch, and TipPage does something with it - mix and match per reward.
The actions
| Action | What happens on redemption |
|---|---|
| Grant credit | The viewer gets free-message credits (sub rewards) - you set how many |
| Bot message | The bot posts a message in chat - templated, so it can name the redeemer |
| Song request | A TipPage-managed reward that queues a song pick |
| Read it aloud | The viewer’s text is read out on your overlays, in a voice you pick |
| Talk to a character | The viewer’s text goes to one of your AI characters, which answers in chat and/or on stream (closed beta) |
Read it aloud
Turn Read it aloud on for a reward that asks the viewer for text, pick a voice, and every redemption is spoken on stream - through every overlay you have connected, so it’s heard whichever scene is live. Nothing needs adding to a layout: overlays play it on their own.
- Voice - one of the standard voices (British, American, Australian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean - male and female where available), or, if your channel has AI voices, any voice in your voice library. Leave it on Channel voice to use the voice from your TTS settings.
- Say who it’s from - on by default, the message is read as “Name says. message”. Turn it off to read the text on its own.
- The reward - pick one of your existing rewards (it must ask the viewer for text, or there’s nothing to read), or let TipPage create one for you. A TipPage-created reward can be refunded: if the message is blocked by your tip filter, the viewer typed nothing, or the audio couldn’t be made, their points go back and the bot tells them why.
The text goes through the same word and AI filter as a tip before it’s spoken. It plays on the same lane as tip TTS, so it waits for a tip that’s already talking and a tip waits for it. If your alert box also shows channel point alerts, the alert still appears but doesn’t read the message a second time.
If an AI voice can’t be used at that moment (the voice was removed, or AI voices are briefly unavailable), the message falls back to the standard voice rather than being lost.
Talk to a character
Turn Talk to a character on for a reward that asks the viewer for text and pick one of your AI characters. The redemption text is the question; the character’s own settings decide whether it answers in chat, on stream, or both, and whether a link in the text may be a picture or a page to read. Let TipPage create the reward makes the points refundable: they come back when the message is blocked, a picture is rejected or held then declined, or the character could not answer. Closed beta.
Overlay alerts live on the overlay
Showing a redemption as an alert isn’t set up here - it’s part of your alert box, alongside follows, subs and cheers. Open your overlay in the editor, click the alert box, and turn Channel points on in the event list. See Twitch alerts.
That also means each overlay decides for itself: a gameplay overlay can show every redemption while a chatting overlay shows none, and you can narrow one box to just the rewards worth interrupting the stream for.
Setting one up
Open Channel Points, pick one of your channel’s custom rewards from the list (it’s pulled live from Twitch), and choose the action(s). Done - redemptions start working immediately.
