What viewers see
The tip flow from your viewer's side - amounts, messages, media requests, TTS preview, and receipts.
Worth knowing what your viewers actually go through when they tip - it’s short.
The tip form
- Name - optional, up to 22 characters. Blank means “Anonymous”.
- Amount - in your currency, with your minimum enforced (default 2.00).
- Message - optional, up to your max message length (default 255 characters). There’s a Preview TTS button that plays their message in your actual TTS voice, so they know how it’ll sound on stream.
- Media request - if you’ve got media enabled, they can attach a YouTube video with a start time. More below.
- Email receipt - optional. Only used to send the receipt; you never see it, and it’s never used for marketing. The receipt carries their refund code.
- Pay - card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay via Stripe, or a PayPal redirect - whichever you’ve made active.
If you’ve turned on Require Twitch sign-in (Settings → Payments → Donor identity), the form stays locked until they sign in with Twitch - and with Force Twitch username on, the name field disappears and their Twitch name is used automatically.
If you’ve written tipping rules, a rules pop-up appears before payment and they have to agree.
After paying they get a success card with your custom success message. If their message got caught by your word filter, they still get the success card - they’re not told it was filtered.
Media requests
Viewers paste a YouTube link (YouTube only), see a live preview, and pick a start time - with quick presets like 0 / 5 / 10. The video plays on your overlay for up to your max media duration (default 90 seconds) from that point. There’s also a Browse button that lets them pick from your current queue and history.
Age-restricted, private, and region-locked videos can’t play and are skipped automatically - the page warns them about that up front.
Free messages for subs
If you’ve enabled sub rewards, your Twitch subscribers can sign in on the tip page and spend earned credits on a free message (and a media request, if you allow it) - no payment involved.
The extra pages
Your tip page also serves:
/queue- the live TTS and media queues./leaderboard- top supporters (if you’ve enabled it), 1/7/30 days./commands- the chat commands available in your channel.
